We at Adamas World School are striving forward to accomplish the necessary at the time of the impossible. Amidst enforced regulations of social distancing and nation-wide quarantine because of the Covid-19 pandemic that is ravaging the whole world, we have been able to transfer classroom education to virtual platforms successfully. We have continued the routined schedule of classes through highly monitored virtual classrooms, even at a time when the global education sector seems to have entered a period of retrograde and collapse.
As soon as the lockdown was declared, the School Management promptly appointed a team of IT experts to train the teachers and the parents about the intricacies of Digital Classroom and other platforms of online teaching. Special mention must be made of the enthusiasm and dedication of the teachers, parents and students to adapt to novel circumstances. They were quick of study and imbibed the new form of educational system with ease. Since then the teachers have been ceaselessly providing study material in the form of lecture videos, PowerPoint presentations, audio clippings and numerous online conferences. The time-saving boon of technology has enhanced the productivity of assigning and evaluating assignments, demonstrating a considerable boost in efficiency.
The quality management team has contributed sufficiently, with its thorough supervision and perfect balance of technical and interpersonal expertise, to ensure a smooth and successful running of the whole e-learning process.
What started as a virtual representation of the school routine scheduled from Monday to Friday, concentrating on only the core subjects, has now successfully covered the wide range of activities that the school provides in a normal academic session; including piano, guitar, keyboard, violin, music, dance, physical education and yoga, thus achieving the goal of bringing down the gap between physical and virtual classroom experience and disruption in instruction to a bare minimum.
In order to maintain constant contact with the students and the parents, Adamas World School arranged for Online Parents-Teachers Meet starting from class Nursery-XII,in the presence of IT professionals to clarify technical doubts, and ensure a smooth transition to a new system despite its novelty and potential for disruption in educational calendar.
The talented and motivated students did not let the virus dampen their festive spirits in the wake of the Corona virus pandemic. On the occasion of Rabindra Jayanti, they started the auspicious day with the sweet melody of “Hey nuton dekha dik aar bar” and carried it forward with Kobi Guru’s poetry recitations, songs and powerpoint presentation on his life, works and ideologies. The effort displayed by young ones in celebrating the birth anniversary of the greatest author of Bengali literature was praiseworthy. Furthermore, their write ups and illustrations on Corona:Through the eyes of a child, were acclaimed by and featured in the well renowned newspapers and magazines, bringing it to the attention of all and sundry.
The school has always been a strong believer of the professional development of teachers and had workshops organised for them round the year.
Even in the wake of the pandemic, the school has continued to arrange numerous Online workshops and Teacher Training programme for teachers, to enhance and upgrade their coaching and mentoring skills.
Online seminars have also been held to shed light on the how to cope with the Corona outbreak for the benefit of the teachers, students and parents.
When the world ground to a standstill under the fierce glare of the Covid19 virus, Adamas World School remained undaunted and steadfast in its mandate to provide the very best of education to its students, using the latest technology and the most cutting edge techniques, which further confirmed the fact that inaccessibility to physical classrooms cannot affect studies as long as we have access to technology and the earnest will to learn.
