H.E. (Mr.) Pham Sanh Chau, Ambassador of The Socialist Republic of Vietnam in India interacted with Indian journalists in New Delhi today to reveal his month-long activities during November 2019 to commemorate Vietnam’s Month in India and celebrate the 3rd Anniversary of Establishment of Vietnam–India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, Vietnam Embassy in India in partnership with Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Vietnam.
Over 32 programs have been planned during November 2019 to promote trade, defense and security, investment, tourism, and Cultural-friendship exchanges in 5 states of India. The number of officials from ministries, industries, businesses, Think Tanks, Academia, scholars of India and Vietnam will attend these events. Some of the main events include Trade, Investment and Tourism Promotion Forums in New Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, meetings of defence officials to enhance bilateral security cooperation, Bouddha Bhumi Vihara, India-ASEAN Business Summit, Vietnam’s Film Festival Awards ceremony, Cultural Exchange and Friendship Exchange, Book Launch – President Ho Chi Minh with India, Painting Exhibition, ASEAN Ladies Circle Programme, Vietnam Food Week, defence manufacturing and maritime security cooperation, Connectivity with India through North East of India amongst many others.
There are visits of leaders from the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Vietnam to promote political and public security, defense, religious, people-to-people, trade, and investment relations.
While Indian Airlines, Indigo launched direct flights from October 2019, and Vietnam’s low-cost flyer – Vietjet airlines will open direct flights from Delhi to Vietnam from December 6, 2019. WhileVietnam attracts 15 million foreign tourists every year, direct flights would give boost cross country tourists significantly.
Over one-and-half hours discussion, H.E. (Mr.) Pham Sanh Chau, Ambassador of The Socialist Republic of Vietnam in India briefed journalists that he has been lucky that during his first year only Vietnam has direct flights due to the right strategy, connect with the right people and support from the Embassy. While both countries have achieved several milestones due to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the fields of trade, defense and security, and people-to-people exchange, a lot more are there to achieve. These Vietnam’ Month would further relations converting traditional bonds into a strategic partnership.
