“I cannot allow American taxpayers dollars to continue to finance an organization that, in its present state, is so clearly not serving America’s interest”, Mr. Donald Trump has said addressing the World Health Organization. Mr. Donald Trump, president of the USA has taken some strong steps against WHO stating that it is biased and it is solely operated by China and thus it is not taking any action against china to hide the important news of Corona.
Mr. President, in a meeting, has said that the United States will end its relationship with the World Health Organization. In a meeting, the President has said “Because they have failed to make the requested and greatly needed reforms. We will be today terminating our relationship with the World Health Organization and will be redirecting those funds to other worldwide and deserving urgent public health needs”.
The President has written a letter to WHO in which he said that on April 14, 2020, he suspends United States’ contribution to the world health organization pending an investigation by his administration of the organization’s failed response to the Covid-19 outbreak. There are many serious concerns he has already stated earlier and no steps can be seen taken on that matter. On his four-page letter to WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, he stated that “The only way forward for the Organization is if can demonstrate independence from China”.
Till now, the virus which has emerged from China’s city Wuhan has killed around 3.64 million people worldwide and still counting.
He further said that it can be comprehended that the World Health Organization has consistently ignored the credible reports of the virus spreading in Wuhan in early December, including the report from the Lancet Medical Journal. The Organization has failed to independently investigate credible reports that conflicted directly with the Chinese government’s official accounts. He said that by December 30, WHO knew that there was a “major public health” concern in Wuhan. After which the Taiwan authorities had communicated information to the World Health Organization indicating that a human to human transmission of a new virus. Yet the Organization chose not to share any of this critical information with the rest of the world, probably for political reasons.

In his letter, it was also stated that according to Dr. Zhang Yongzhen of the Shanghai Public Health Clinic Centre, he told Chinese authorities on January 5 itself, that he had sequenced the genome of the virus. There was no publication of this information until six days, after which he published his report online. And in response to that, Chinese authorities closed the lab for “rectification” purposes. He also stated in his report that, many times, the WHO itself made some misleading statements to defend china.
As stated in that report “On January 28, after meeting with President Xi in Beijing, you praised China for its, so-called “transparency”, and praised China for a new set of standards and that it bought time for the whole world, but did you even bothered and talked about how china hide the news of human transmission and banned the journals which cover the news of Coronavirus.
Even after you belatedly declared the outbreak a public health emergency of international concern on January 30, you failed to press china for timely admittance of a World Health Organization team of international medical experts. Even after the team was formed and sent to China, the team was not allowed to visit Wuhan even on the last day of the visit. What is most remarkable here is that the World Health Organization was silent when China denied the two American members of the team access to Wuhan entirely. The WHO has failed to publicly call on China to allow for an independent investigation into the origins of the virus, despite the recent endorsement for doing so by its emergency committee.”
In conclusion in his letter, the President said “It is clear the repeated missteps by you and your organization in responding to the pandemic have been extremely costly for the world. We do not have time to waste, that is why it is my duty, as president of the United States of America, to inform you that, if the WHO does not commit to major substantive improvements within the next 30 days, I will make my temporary freeze of united states funding to the World Health Organization permanent and reconsider our membership in the organization”.
