A country which is famous all over the world for its expenses on defence and security has recently found itself into deep trouble as shootings in schools have been a regular feature. Indeed! These school shootings can nowhere be justified and are subject to criticism but at the same time it has also raised the question on the current gun policy in the USA where the possession of semi-automatic guns is legal.

Even though after Parkland shooting it has become quite obvious that the USA needs to work on the policy measures rather than just blabbering on the mental health of those assassins. As per the Axios Reports, Trump himself feels that the high school kids shouldn’t buy guns and the minimum age for purchasing a gun should be 21 years. The ATF doesn’t have the authority to ban bump stocks and for such a loophole in the protocol can be addressed through a proper legislation.

Even Trump while addressing the National Rifle Association in 2017 said, “The eight-year assault on your Second Amendment freedoms has come to a crashing end. You have a true friend and champion in the White House. No longer will federal agencies be coming after law-abiding gun owners. No longer will the government be trying to undermine your rights and your freedoms as Americans. Instead, we will work with you, by your side. We will work with the NRA to promote responsible gun ownership, to protect our wonderful hunters and their access to the very beautiful outdoors. You met my son—I can tell you, both sons, they love the outdoors. Frankly, I think they love the outdoors more than they love, by a long shot, Fifth Avenue. But that’s okay. And we want to ensure you of the sacred right of self-defense for all of our citizens.” Even though there has been a question of the age barrier, still it has not reached any conclusion and the conversation is still open-ended.
