The Policy Times Dhaka Bureau (July 25) :
In Zagreb 21 (July) Ambassador M Riaz Hamidullah also held substantive discussions with the Croatian State Secretary, Mr. Frano Matusic, at the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.

Croatian side suggested the periodic convening of the Foreign Office Consultations and also to conclude a comprehensive cooperation agreement to steer bilateral cooperation in a focused manner.

Numerous ideas and areas surfaced, to advance BangladeshCroatia ties with result orientation e.g. how entrepreneurs from both countries could collaborate in areas like pharmaceuticals construction digital industry shipbuilding, also to collaborate in art & culture. For both football-loving peoples, a unique connection could be formed in sports.

The Ambassador also flagged interest to place Bangladesh’s footprint in art and music festivals, especially in Zagreb Film Festival. Similar connections could be explored in education e.g. Zagreb University.

They discussed ways to having Bangladeshi skilled workers engage in the Croatian economy, especially in the tourism sector, in responsible ways.

As Croatia emerges as a ‘hub’ in Central Europe, especially with two new large Ports, there was discussion for Bangladesh exports to beneficially tap newer multimodal connectivity to Europe.
