Dhaka Bureau Policy Times : To commemorate the 49th anniversary of Bangladesh Liberation War 1971, on 14 December 2020, a delegation comprising of 58 Muktijoddhas and serving officers of Armed Forces of Bangladesh departed for India to participate in Vijay Diwas celebrations at Eastern Command of Indian Army.
Every year, Govt. of India invites Muktijoddhas and Armed Forces from Bangladesh to participate in the Vijay Diwas celebrations.
This bilateral visit enhances the cooperation between India and Bangladesh and provides platform to Bangladeshi Muktojoddhas and Indian War Veterans to gather and cherish the memories associated with Liberation War of 1971.
The Liberation War of 1971 is a unique example in history wherein armed forces of India and Bangladesh fought together for the cause of freedom against oppressive and tyrannical forces.
