The Policy Times and South Asia Education Council (SAEC) in collaboration with Shiv Nadar University, Uttar Pradesh organized capacity building webinar on “Path For Success Through Education” as part of the India– Nepal Education Web-Series on Wednesday from 6.15 pm -8.15 pm (IST).
Dr. Partha Chatterjee, Dean of International Partnership and H.O.D. of Economics, Shiv Nadar University brought out the current world scenario and role of education as an equalizer and means to achieve a dignified living standard. Advanced technology and the global pandemic have brought a lot of change and uncertainty in the world and consequently in our traditional means of livelihood. The change is constant and in a scenario like this quality education can be the foundation to not only earn a dignified living standard but to adapt ourselves with success to the constant change in our world. India and Nepal have vast young human resources and quality education can empower them to bring necessary change and prosperity to South Asia. India in the last decade or so has made significant progress in the education field and academic collaboration between Nepal and India can uplift entire South Asia to a better situation.
India in the last a decade or so has made significant progress in the education field and private philanthropy has an instrumental role in alleviating Indian education and paving ways to nationally and internationally acclaimed institutions of excellence like Shiv Nadar University recognized as one of the ten ‘Institution Of Eminence’ by the government of India.
Mr. Vishnu Sharma, Managing Partner, Vilte Furnitech, and Mr. Dillip Acharya, Manager Corporate Taxation, Aditya Birla (Hindalco) two of Nepal’s sons making it big in India, shared anecdotes of their career and contribution they are trying to make in both Nepal and India.
Dr. Shalu Kalra, Associate Professor, Department of Finance, Shiv Nadar University shared the foundation role of a higher education institution in creative self-discovery and the importance of self-discovery to build a career around that.
Ms. Harshita Tripathi, Senior Manager, International Partnership, Shiv Nadar University implored on the significance of freedom of choosing from multi-disciplinary subjects and explore their potential and the necessary component of research in higher education to prepare for life with ample choices. Shiv Nadar University facilitates a beautiful combination of the aforementioned components for its pupils.
India and Nepal could make a lot out of strong collaboration in multiple sectors especially the academic domain and continuous effort to strengthen the ties is necessary to realize the vision of regional co-operation in education.
