Prof. (Dr) Jyotsna Yagnik made her introductory remarks, she said if we examine the history of world there is no revolution on this earth no right has been availed or obtained without lawyers being leaders of that right because knowledge of power is law it gives you tremendous confidence, it gives you clear ability and gives you keen articulation and it allows development in every field, it gives you very important skills in life to be successful. It is not important which law school you go all you require is how you are prepared, be discipline, be sincere, and one’s commitment. And if you have these three qualities and if you are trained by proper hands then you can make wonders.
“The job of the judiciary is one of the divine functions, so doing justice and administrating justice is the divine work. Nowadays to opt for judiciary, no requirement of practices are required, one can straightway give exam of bar council and then exam for judiciary. Now for becoming lawyers and then judge then one can also opt for a senior position called district judges, one can opt for that and after completion of 7 years of practice judiciary is possible. She stated.
Mr. Sandip K Banerjee said, “It’s a career which requires time to establish, any career which is noble it takes time for establishment, but one has to be very clear in choosing profession, and should be very passionate about his or her career. And you’ve to give time and go through a lot of reading. Law today has diverse opportunity because law today is just not looked at a normal LLB, law today has profession which has specialised in International Affairs, Criminal laws, Cyber laws and lot more. And law is a subject to be looked at with a wider perspective and whether your heart wants to chase that”.
Prof. Sanyukta Chowdhury threw light on a couple of points which are important while choosing a career, first why should one choose law and second if he/she choosing so why should opt for 5 years BA LLB course instead of 3 years course. She explained, One should opt for law not only to get an idea about the rules and regulations and what are laws that are there in the society but to understand the underline reasons, that is why do one have their rights, why that right cannot be taken away, if one’s rights are taken what are safeguards, thus the knowledge of law empowers one person to understand one’s own life and the world around.
“No undergraduate degree except for degree in medicine and architecture few professions are having the king of vigour, diversity, subject knowledge and a wide range which a 5 year law degree provides.” Stated Prof. Anand Prakash Mishra.
Mr. Akram Hoque ended the show by thanking all the panellists for giving their time for growing a better India for the future and specially thanked Dr. Banerjee for his support to be a part of the show on a regular basis and guiding them in the right path. Mr. Hoque in the end said, “Choose any career but do not run for success, there’s no link with success, but real success connects to your work and knowledge.
