According to a former top American diplomat, the US should keep a careful eye on China because it may try to take over the Bagram air force base in Afghanistan following the Taliban‘s control of the war-torn country and utilize Pakistan to become stronger to go against India.
Nikki Haley, America’s former UN envoy, said President Joe Biden has lost the faith and confidence of American friends as a result of his premature decision to remove troops from Afghanistan. She stated that the United States has several problems.“Actors like Russia are going to continue to hack us because we show no evidence of readiness to fight back,” she said, adding that the US must ensure that Americans are protected and that the country’s cybersecurity is robust.
“We must keep an eye on China because I believe it will make a bid for Bagram Air Force Base. I believe they are also making a move in Afghanistan, attempting to strengthen Pakistan in order to go up against India. So we have a lot of problems “She stated.
After nearly 20 years, the US military departed Bagram Airfield, its main outpost in Afghanistan, in July. At its peak, the Bagram facility housed tens of thousands of US troops.
“The biggest thing he (Biden) should do is strengthen our allies, strengthen those relationships, modernize our military, and make sure we are prepared for the cyber-crimes and the terrorist crimes that are headed our way,” she said in response to a question.
She believes it is past time for President Biden’s administration to reach out to critical friends and allies such as India, Japan, and Australia and convince them that the US has their back.
“The first thing you should do is immediately begin communicating with our friends, whether it’s Taiwan, Ukraine, Israel, India, Australia, Japan, all of them, and reassure them that we will have their back and that we need them as well,” Ms. Haley added.
She claimed that Joe Biden had lost the trust and confidence of the American people. “If you look at the fact that the jihadists are rejoicing in the streets because America has left town – and they left them with billions of dollars in weapons and ammunition as a welcome gift,” she added.
