Dhaka Bureau Policy Times : As the milestone project of “Digital Bangladesh Vision 2021”, the Tier IV National Data Center is the first uptime certified TIER IV data center in South Asia and the 6th largest across the world, and also the flagship G-to-G project between Bangladesh and China, developed by ZTE Corporation.
The Tier IV National Data Center is located in Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City in Kaliakoir, Gazipur, occupying 7 acres of land, includes a 28,000 square meters park and 16,000 square meters 2-floor data center building, and 4,000 square meters two Center Utility Building. The Tier IV National Data offers data services for public utilities, enterprises and commerce. The reliability of the data center can reach 99.995% and the whole system is a fault tolerant, 2N structure.
Now, Ministries and independent governing bodies are using the data center to preserve & secure the data and sharing the ICT infrastructure, which drastically reduces operation and maintenance costs for the Bangladeshi government. Current industries also gain access to new services or applications under demand due to the better digital infrastructure like cloud computing, storage and networking.
With the accomplishment in November 28, 2019, 4TDC enhances ICT infrastructure influence of Bangladesh in South Asia. Digital economics as the future development impetus will dramatically promote economics and society development of Bangladesh.
