On midnight on 15th June, fierce face-off took place near Galwan Valley of Ladakh between the troops of India and China. This face-off leads to the death of 20 Indian Soldiers and more than 45 Chinese soldiers. It was noted that the Chinese PLA were more in number than Indian soldiers. After the face-off 10 Indian soldiers were detained by the Chinese which are released tomorrow i.e. 18th June 2020. The soldiers detained by the PLA include 2 officers. All the personnel are now sent for medical examination. Although, by looking mere looking at them we can say that they have returned unharmed.

Increasing face-offs are increasing the tension in the border area. The last time China detained the Indian soldiers were in the 1962 war. Series of the face-offs started in late April and by now they have indulged in them for more than 7 times with an increase in bloodshed every time. By then, several Lieutenant Level and Lt. Gen. level meeting has also taken place to dis-engage the situation in the border. Moreover, Maj. Gen. Level talks also took place but almost every time they did not come to a precise conclusion. Maj. Gen. Abhijit Bapat, commander of Karu-based headquarters 3 Infantry Division, and his Chinese counterpart met for the third time on 18th June 2020.

Army said that “it is cleared that no Indian troops are missing in action”. Talking about the injuries China is now releasing any information about the number of soldiers died or injured but according to Army, 76 Indian soldiers are injured apart from the 20 martyred and more than 43 Chinese soldiers were killed or seriously injured.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that “the entire responsibility lies with the Indian side, we hope India can work with China to maintain the long-term development of bilateral relation”. Some officials also said that the situation remains as it was, there is no disengagement, but there is also no further build-up of forces.

It is an agreement between both the countries that while patrolling in that area, no weapons shall be used, even then Chinese PLA violated the agreement by using the rods and wire trenched sticks. India is known for keeping promises and our army has once again proved it. When Chinese troops attacked the Indian troop with weapons, even then our soldiers did not use the weapons they were possessing that time to retaliate with the PLA, they used their physical strength to maintain the agreement signed by the officials.

China should not, at least now, bury its head under the sand and do analyses that if Indian soldiers who were very much less in number and that too without weapons can kill or injured more than 45 of them then Chinese army and the bootlicking media has no right to say that soldiers are physically not well to fight a war. India is capable and all set to devastate China in both economic and border matters.
