Corona vaccination for workers at the Rooppur nuclear power plant under construction began on Wednesday (July 14th) in the wake of the deteriorating corona epidemic situation across Bangladesh.
The minister said the Russian government has extended a helping hand in providing vaccinations to Russians as well as Bangladeshis working to move the project forward smoothly. He congratulated and thanked the Russian government for this, and said that 850 members of the Atomic Energy Commission working on the project have been vaccinated. In addition, those working in various contractors of the project have also been informed to be vaccinated gradually. If necessary, the government will cooperate. The Minister also thanked the Upazila Health Officer Dr. Asma Khan and his team for their cooperation in administering the vaccine.
Project Director. Shaukat Akbar said, everyone working in the project is being brought under the coroner’s vaccine. Vaccination of foreigners, including Russians, is already in its final stages. Vaccination of Bangladeshis will also start today. Bangladeshis who are working on the project will also be vaccinated in phases. Confirming that 52 people had been vaccinated on the first day, he said doctors, nurses, and those involved in the work had been vaccinated.
Alexei Dairy, vice president of Russian Atomstroy Exports, Morozov, a Russian physician, and Ruhul Quddus, site in charge of the project, were present.
