The novel coronavirus has been spread all across the world; many people already lost their lives; People are not allowed to come out of their homes due to the amid lockdown instructions issued by the government in their respective countries including maintaining social distancing; people have been asked to wear facial coverings while out in public, but, has anyone ever imagined a mask could cost lives?

Yes, some people have also lost their lives due to wearing masks just to protect themselves from the coronavirus. According to Lincoln Park Police Department, in New Jersey, A man passed out and crashed into a telephone pole this week, and police believe the accident could have been avoided if he hadn’t worn an N95 mask while driving. According to them wearing an N95 mask too long can cause someone to inadvertently restrict their oxygen — which is what they believed happened to a man who crashed his car on Thursday. The driver was transported to the hospital for a “complaint of pain” and he sustained no life-threatening injuries, the department said.

According to the California Department of Public Health, N95 respirators may make breathing more difficult and can lead to increased breathing and heart rates. So it is advised to people who so ever wear an N95 mask should have a check at their respiratory conditions. They also said that the N95 mask should not be worn longer than 8 hours it is not necessary if you are driving in the car you have to wear at the same time also. It should never be worn in a confined space like lifts, cars, or any other space where the oxygen level is not good for the person.

But in a follow-up note LPPD (Lean Product and Process Development) gave importance to the fact that the police department properly did not know yet if the N95 mask was the reason the driver lost consciousness may be any other reason should be there, to the response to which department said yea it could be other reason also of the sudden death of the person in the car.

Another cause of death was reported in China due to wearing the mask. A Chinese jogger suffered from collapsed lungs after performing a 2.5 mile run in the city of Wuhan, the place where the novel coronavirus was allegedly first detected. Wuhan hospital officials told to media on Monday.

In a Chinese version of twitter it was been tweeted that 26-year-old man suffered shortness of breathing while running on Thursday, after which he was been admitted and according to the reports of the doctor it was revealed that it must have been caused by wearing a mask while jogging. But the cause of death was not been proven by the doctors they were not sure that death has been caused by wearing masks or due to any other reasons.

Also, a week ago, the news were about two young teenagers dying on the track field while running, and wearing masks hugged the headline. Reports say the boys, who were in separate schools and died a week apart, were performing runs in a physical examination in China but still it was not clear that the death caused was by wearing a mask because in china all classes have been resumed and all the students have been instructed to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.

Though it’s not known whether the masks are playing a role in causing death, it has not been proved yet by the officials.
