
The Chief Election Commissioner of India O P Rawat announced the dates for Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Mizoram, and Telangana Assembly Elections due late this year. With the announcement of the poll dates by the Election Commission, the Model Code of Conduct became effective.
The election in Chhattisgarh will be held in two phases. In the first stage, elections will be held in 18 assembly constituencies on November 12. While in the second phase, the election in 72 constituencies will be held on November 20. Except for Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan Mizoram, and Telangana will have elections in a single phase. Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram will be held on November 28, whereas in Rajasthan and Telangana the elections will be held on December 7.
Addressing the press conference, O P Rawat further added that the counting of votes, in all five states, will be held on December 11, 2018.
Fifty-member House in Mizoram expires on December 15, 2018. Chhattisgarh’s Assembly of 90 members concludes on January 5, 2019. In Madhya Pradesh, the tenure of the 230-member House ends on January 7, 2019, while the 200-member Rajasthan House expires on January 20, 2019.

Madhya Pradesh
Madhya Pradesh will have polling in a single phase in 230 constituencies where the date of filing the nomination is November 7, while the last date for withdrawal of nomination is 14 November. The polling will take place on 28 November 2018.
Chhattisgarh
Chhattisgarh will have first phase elections on 12 November 2018 in 18 constituencies of Southern Part where the date of filing the nomination is 16 October. The last date for withdrawing the nomination is 26 October. However, the second phase elections for 72 constituencies will take place on 20 November.
Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram
In Rajasthan and Telangana, the date of nomination is 12 November and the last date for withdrawal is 22 November. The elections will be held on 7 December 2018. While in Mizoram, the date of filing the nomination 7 November and the last date for withdrawal is 14 November. The Polls will take place on 28 November 2018.
