Friends for Indias Development and Assistance (FIDA) is an NGO started in Pune 16 years ago by students of 1984 (10th standard) and 1986 (12th standard) of Loyola High School Pune.
This NGO helps children to complete their education after their 10th and until now over 25 students have completed their education thanks to the scholarship of FIDA. Some have graduated to become engineers, nurses, police officers, and many other professions.
Seen in the picture is one such scholar who is seen hoisting the national flag on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of India’s freedom. She is a Talathi (Village revenue officer In Govt of Maharashtra).
A unique contribution by former students of a school bonded together through a cause to do something good for society.
Shailesh Dubhashi is President of FIDA while Dr. Sameer Joshi is Trustee and Anjali Dubhashi is Treasurer.
