Five states of India– Assam, Kerala, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry are going to have their state elections this year. The date of the elections was still not confirmed by the election commission even after two months of the New Year passed. But putting all assumptions to hold, the EC has now announced the dates of the assembly polls on Friday.

- April 29
Kerala– only one phase of all 140 seats on April 6
Assam phase dates-

Tamil Nadu– only one phase for all 294 seats on April 6
Puducherry– only one phase of all 30 seats on April 6
The maximum number of phases of the election will be conducted in West Bengal. The WB political scenario is also challenging and so, the electoral officers and the on-duty police and army officials must be keen on providing the required protection to the voters as well as the candidates. Though EC has already announced that two special observers for WB polls, they can send one another if required. The result of the polls will be declared on May 2, 2021.
