The collection, Amity: peace poems, will be edited by the G100 India Country Chair – World Peace, writer Sahana Ahmed
The World Peace wing of G100 Club and Hawakal Publishers have come together to release an anthology of poems exploring World Peace. The collection, Amity: peace poems, will be edited by the India Country Chair, Sahana Ahmed. It will be launched in December 2022 at the annual Women Economic Forum, New Delhi, by Dr. Harbeen Arora Rai, Founder & President of the G100 initiative.
G100 is a global movement to achieve gender equality in this decade. It comprises a league of luminaries including Nobel laureates, heads of states, ministers, philanthropists, investors, entrepreneurs, corporate and community leaders – a powerful group of achievers from all walks of life who wish to give back to their communities. The G100 World Peace wing is led by Global Chair H.E. Ouided Bouchamaoui, the Nobel Peace Prize 2015-winning co-founder of the Tunisian National Dialogue Quartet.
Regarding the anthology, Bitan Chakraborty, the Founder & Director of Hawakal Publishers, says, “Peace hosts innocence. Poetry nurtures peace. Poets and artistes cannot go to war. Amity will endorse my belief.”
Sahana Ahmed, the editor of Amity, says that she is grateful to G100 and Hawakal for supporting her ideas— “I am looking for honest writing that blends style with substance and goes beyond the personal to touch on something universal,” she adds.
The title of the volume comes from Kiriti Sengupta, Director of Hawakal Publishers. Summing up the theme of the book, he states, “Let friendship prevail. Let poetry heal our wounds; let it bring much solace. I’m hopeful Amity will be a useful tool in these difficult times.”
