The World Economic Forum has predicted that 65% of the children currently enrolled in primary school will be working in jobs that do not even exist right now. Such is the pace of change in the world that a number of jobs that have lucrative salaries today did not exist five years ago. The main reason for this major shift in career paradigm is ever-growing software. If we how to prepare the kids for the future then there is only one way to gear up for it and that is by teaching them coding.

The school curriculum has always been dynamic and developing

To keep up with the coming changes in the world, the education system has always been very dynamic all around the world. NEP 2020 also suggests some major reforms to the education pattern of the country and makes it mandatory for kids to learn to code. This change is similar to the introduction of mathematics in schools after the Industrial Revolution. Before that, fewer than 10% of the people learnt mathematics in schools.

How does coding help the kids?

Coding is the language needed to create a set of instructions to guide hardware and software operations. It is very logical in nature and helps build critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in the kids. It also fosters creative understanding and strengthens the brain. The STEM careers get easier to learn and grasp if the kid already knows the basics of coding. Additionally, coding is all about writing commands and identifying your mistakes in them. This encourages a problem-solving attitude in the kids and helps them find their way out in every situation. All these trends are being clearer to Indian parents now, as they are enrolling their kids in coding and programming centres. If this can be a part of the school curriculum itself, kids will get exposed to greater possibilities of a bright future.
