The Ministry of Interior, Qatar, and the Embassy of Bangladesh jointly organized a 7-episode webinar series for the Bangladeshi community living in Qatar on June 27, 2021, via the Zoom platform.
Dr. Ahmed Munirus Saleheen, Secretary, Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Government of Bangladesh was present as the chief guest, while Bangladesh Ambassador to Qatar Md. Jashim Uddin, NDC chaired the event.
Ambassador Md. Jashim Uddin expressed gratitude to the Emir and the Government of Qatar for providing health care and free vaccines to the expatriates.
He highlighted the various activities and services of the Embassy and urged all to abide by the local rules and regulations of Qatar. Secretary Dr. Ahmed Munirus Saleheen described the ex-pats as an important human resource and highlighted the various activities of the Ministry taken for the expatriates.
He urged to create a positive image of the Bangladeshi community in Qatar through their competence and good conduct and to stay away from any crime, including drugs.
Dr. Nadir Abbara, an official of Qatar’s Drugs Prevention Department, made a presentation titled “Drugs and Alcohol Prevention”. Officials of the Bangladesh Embassy and the Qatar Interior Ministry, leaders of the Bangladesh community, and about 300 expatriate Bangladeshi took part in the event. Counselor Dr. Mustafizur Rahman thanked the participants.
