In another joyous moment for India, the country in August has administered more Covid vaccine jabs as compared to all G7 nations together, the health ministry said in a statement. In August, India administered over 180 million doses of Covid vaccines (18 crores) the ministry informed.
The GoI took to Twitter informing that India has left behind all the G7 nations in the inoculation drive for the month of August by administering vaccines doses to more than 18 crore people.
Among the G7 nations (UK, US, Japan, Canada, Italy, Germany, and France), Canada had administered 3 million doses, UK administered 5 million, Italy 8 million, Germany 9 million, France 13 million, US 23 million, and Japan with 40 million.
According to a press statement released by the health ministry, till now, the Center has disbursed more than 66. 89 crore of vaccine doses to the States and UTs. The statement further added that more than 1.56 crores doses of vaccines are in the pipeline of the disbursement process.
India apparently is administering the world’s largest inoculation drive free of cost and till now has administered more than 68 crores of vaccines jabs.
