The Second edition of the All India Conference by The Students Islamic Organization (SIO) of India, one of the largest student association was inaugurated on the theme “Reclaiming Dignity, Designing Future” on 23rd February 2018 in New Delhi. Dr. Wael Al Atterkhi, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Palestine was the Chief Guest apart from the leadership of SIO of India and their parent organizations.

The three days “All India Conference” has invited young minds, leaders, and thinkers to define and design the future and contribute to the nation building. While inaugurating the Conference, Moulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari, President, Jamat-e-Islami-Hind (JIH) said, “Education enlightens the society. Unfortunately, the current students and teachers both are unaware of this fact.” He added that political parties of India are using students for their political mileage and the aim of SIO is to stop that to happen.

While defining the future, the Conference identified a few issues the country to should focus. Today, women aren’t safe in this country, not even in their mother’s womb. About 1.5 crore girls die before even taking birth. We need the country to not only safeguard the women but also empower them. Corruption is destroying the economy while large bank frauds by industrialists are making it more challenging. Time has come to take a strong step. Rohingyas has been killed and thrown out of their country, Assamese Muslims have been thrown out of their homes, Syrians, Iraqis, Palestinians, Africans and other are living a homeless, foodless, aimless lives of a destitute. Time has come, the youth to understand the national and global challenges.
