On Sunday, June 20, 2021, at the invitation of the Bangladesh Awami Juba League, the High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh, Shree Vikram Kumar Doraiswamy, visited the central office of the organization at 23 Bangabandhu Avenue Dhaka.
He was welcomed by the central leaders including the chairman of the organization, an icon of the youth society of Bangladesh Professor Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash and struggling general secretary Alhaj Md. Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil.
Indian High Commissioner Shree Vikram Kumar Doraiswamy, Juba League Chairman Prof Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash and General Secretary Alhaj Md. Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil addressed the exchange of views at the central office.
In his speech, Indian High Commissioner Doraiswamy highly praised the various humanitarian and organizational activities of the Bangladesh Awami Juba League and called for continuing these activities for the welfare of the youth and the people of Bangladesh. He said, “Juba League has occupied a unique place in the history of the creation of Bangladesh. The founder of the Juba League himself is a freedom fighter and a hero of the war of independence. They are working to protect the values of the freedom struggle of Bangladesh. I promised in advance to visit their office. But could not attend for the corona epidemic. “We have discussed bilateral issues,” he said. The aim was to enhance the relationship between the youth of Bangladesh and India. Reaching the doorsteps of the youth with the help of the Juba League and increasing the connection between students and young businessmen from India and Bangladesh. ”
Professor Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash, Chairman of Awami Juba League, said, “India is our friend in difficult times and also a partner in good times. To increase communication between the youth of the two countries through the exchange of culture and education. So that we can strengthen our friendship in the future. The issues have been fruitfully discussed today.”
