Currently, MRT Line 6, MRT Line1, and MRT Line 5 North are under implementation stage with Japan’s ODA Loan for solving the traffic problems of Dhaka city. In order to secure the smart and organized development of towns along the MRT lines, it is necessary to integrate land use with transit systems. If MRT development is appropriately combined with TOD-based urban planning, the dream of MRT will go beyond the solution of Dhaka city’s transport bottlenecks.
This technical cooperation project will promote TOD along Mass Transit Corridors in Dhaka city to realize attractive development surrounding station areas and to improve access and RAJUK’s capacity development on TOD.
