Bareilly is a district of northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh where people are deeply facing worsening economic situation. The local trades of embroidery, manjaa, and furniture are fighting the battle for survival along with their huge dependent population of Muslim workers. National Media has reported deaths and other social dilemma emerging due to rising poverty
Non-availability of affordable/charitable health care facilities and extreme poverty of the local populace are two key factors. This has led some social workers to take strong action in the form of healthcare project called “Rithora Charitable Health Center” which is an initiative of UP Human Welfare Foundation (UP HWF). The project aims to establish a Health Centre with its services subsidized / free for the poor and needy population.
