On December 24, before Christmas, the state of Maharashtra announced new Christmas restrictions for the state. This is because the state’s Omicron balance sheet has exceeded the 100 mark in the 108 Omicron case

  • The state prohibits social gatherings of five or more people in public places after 9 pm.
  • Up to 100 indoor weddings and up to 250 outdoor weddings.
  • Fitness studios, theatres, spas, hotels, and cinemas can only be operated with a 50% occupancy.
  • For other social, political, and religious events, even the number of participants should not exceed 100, and in open spaces, this number is either 250 or 25% of the room’s capacity Do not exceed the lesser one. New guidelines issued before Christmas came into effect late at night, an official declaration late Friday night. At any sporting event, the number of people must not exceed 25% of the venue’s capacity.

On Friday, Maharashtra did record 1,410 new coronavirus cases and 20 omicron infections during the day. The number of cases of COVID19 increased by more than 200 per day compared to Thursday. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced on Friday that travelers boarding in Dubai and landing in Mumbai will have to undergo a seven-day home quarantine. Passengers certainly do not need to perform the RTPCR test on arrival, but they do need to do so after 7 days. If the test is negative, you should monitor yourself for at least 7 days. If the test is positive, they will be immediately transferred to the facility’s quarantine facility.
