At this juncture of modernization where showbiz industry plays an important role in affecting our decision, people seem to have an obsession with a fair skin and don’t hesitate to try anything. And today on the eve of World Skin Health Day 2018, a Panel Discussion was organized by the Press Club of India where eminent dignitaries of IADVL (Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists, and Leprologists) were present.

The dignitaries which included Dr. Ramesh Bhat; President IADVL and Dr. Rohit Batra; Joint General Secretary IADVL along with other reputed doctors talked on the lax enforcement regarding the tropical steroids creams and how its abuse is creating serious health problems? They very extensively talked about the various ill-effects of these steroid creams which are the reason for telangiectasia and solar purpura. They also enlightened people regarding the drawbacks of the skin laser machines which are frequently used in beauty parlors. Even after being such a highly sophisticated equipment which should be used under the expertise of a qualified doctor, their reckless use in beauty parlors causes long-term damages if not visible at the present moment. They also talked upon the existing myth of Botox which is considered deadly in the eyes of common masses if not used inadequate amount. Not only they talked about the overuse of popular Panderm & Quadriderm but also the lack of knowledge of the common masses regarding the available sunscreen lotions and creams which are quite harmful to our skin.
At the end of the discussion, they elaborated the awareness campaign of IADVL that how it is trying to create an awareness for better skin health all across India along with simple yet effective ways which just consist of proper nutrition and some good habits to escape from the common diseases of the skin.
