Q – Mr. Ravi, Tell us a little bit about you and your initiative?

I think first of all a lot of people may be interested to know what “RevRoy” stands for-we are in the entrance automation business most of our products are motor-driven and the word ‘Rev Comes from the revolution of the motor and ‘Roy’s Actually stands for a king. We want to in some way be the king of revolution as in the motors and king of revolution by sheerly the way where we interact and deliver our solutions and products to end customers to create a kind of a revolution. On a totally different pedestal when compared to the others available in the market so it’s our endeavor to try and be something very different uh because the motto of  RevRoy is transforming the business into enduring partnerships. RevRoy offers products for vehicular traffic and pedestrian traffic management as well, we offer a range of products viz. Boom Barriers, Bollards both Active & Passive, Road Blockers & Spikes especially for facilities that demand a very high deterrent for their secured premises.

Q – Mr. Thandavan, please tell us a little brief about your sector? How is the sector evolving? How RevRoy uniquely positioned and offering its services?

The business of entrance automation is the barriers and the gates. A great deal of importance in the way both pedestrian and vehicular traffic today is controlled in our country. Early 2000 installations overseas industry started having a growth slowly started expanding. Today industry of entrance automation is probably in the region of say about two and a half to three billion Indian rupees. Today if we take of any software technology park or any commercial establishment or an office complex, they find it extremely important to be able to control the people who enter their facility. The deployment of pedestrian gates became prevalent with this access control technology which they use. Made is a possible use for organizations and establishments to control the movement of people into their facility and allow only authorized personnel to enter. The post-Covid scenario has thrown up new challenges in the authenticating process and organizations are moving away from touch to touch-less solutions adopting newer technologies and introducing face recognition systems that will deliver safety & security for its people by recognizing faces with even face masks on for it is the new norm that is likely to stay on for some time to come.

  • These barrios that have lots of parking and various toll plazas and so many other places bring in a certain amount of discipline in the movement of these vehicles and registrar that are moving into and out of a facility.
  • The third aspect is concerning pedestrians but in the ecosystem of the transport sector. All experienced immigration when we are exiting or entering our country at the airports it’s a long drawn process, we have to wait in queues. The introduction of the immigration solution will become history, people with passports that have all their information in a soft form which is a chip that can quickly access immigration channels in less than 30 sec 20 sec. The entire stamping of the soft passport becomes much quicker, easier, and delightful to customers and travelers who are exiting and entering our country with these immigration gates.
  • All the airports have known these immigration gates and people zip through them in and out of them. That is a very short span of time so, these are the various segments that fall under the entrance automation segment. The last one is for installations which are very high threat perceived installation government establishments, defense facilities, the parliament building, data center access now all these places need to be secured beyond what we generally see in commercial space. They have certain products that will ensure not more than one person access the facility and only after ensuring that the person is safe to allowed access and he is not carrying any weapon or any tools or anything on his person that may be unsafe to the sanitized environment inside in terms of safety and security. Generally, these buildings, also need to protect not just the inside but also the very structure. That is created under vehicle scanning solutions they have license plate recognition systems. They have anti-crash Bullard’s Road blockers and spikes. Just to the throat, any kind of aggressive attempt to enter the facility which is certainly not desirous for these kinds of high threat perceived installations.

Q –  How do you view or offer a competitive analysis of the Indian market situation and how Rev Roy is working towards a global or Indian market position?

There was a time when we were lagging behind in adopting and using technology. It was a very wide canyon between the West and India. The technology that has been introduced worldwide today has been adopted in our country in a short time. So, we have the leapfrog advantage. We don’t have to go through the rigmarole to invent it, to try it, to test it. Today, India is far ahead in terms of adoption, and in terms of the Prime Minister’s digital economy, we are far ahead of the top four in the world.

Today we are talking about digital certificates available for those who have the Covid vaccine. In the United States, they still write something down on a piece of paper and give it to vaccinated people. Digital payment modules cover the spectrum of society today. We are at the forefront of the penetration of digital payments in India and that proves that India as a country lacks technology. Many of these will be addressed by many entrepreneurs, including technocrats, both in the public and private spheres, and we should find in a very short time that there is in fact no difference in the way India uses technology compared to the West. Already it is very, very vague. It is very difficult for us to know the difference between the technology used in India and the world we are already there and thanks to the initiative of the Prime Minister, all this has been possible.

Q- Sir, as there are many technological disruptions in this sector, what are the major challenges or opportunities that you see moving forward?

The ecosystem of the entrance automation sector is actually crowded. It’s not that we’re there and we’re doing something very different, they don’t want to claim, they should lie. It’s not that. The place is crowded and we have the best international brands and names who are in space providing great products and solutions.

They want to make a difference in the way they deliver solutions to the end customer. Their goal is to transform the business into endearing partnerships. In order to achieve that they need to move much closer to their customer. It is very important to understand the challenges the customers are facing as well as the demands of the customers so that they are able to become endearing partners with the customers. Therefore, they are doing everything possible to reach out to the customers and deliver products & solutions to their customers.

Q: Any message you want to share for your public, clients, employees, or the entire industrial base?

After the formation of Rev Roy with his dear friend Lyakat Ali Khan, they look forward to being the best partners for their customers. Their resolvents have become much stronger. The members conveyed that they aimed at developing a partnership with the customers and helping the customers at overcoming all the challenges they are facing and providing them with proper solutions.

Q: The show’s mentor and chairperson. Dr. P. Shekhar will give his reviews and comments about the product.

When a security person becomes a partner, it becomes a big achievement for the public. Rev Roy is a multinational company and they have put up a manufacturing plant in India. So it will be another great achievement for a make in India product of an international company. In the coming years, Rev Roy will be able to teach the parent company about new things, new developments, and new ways to address the global market.
