Mr. Pyare khan was born in poor family background. His father was a small time grocer while his mother did “odd” jobs to feed him and his 3 other siblings. He started driving in a courier company at a very tender age to support his family. But a tragic accident in Orissa made him jobless. From then till today, his strong determination and grit have helped him cross seamless boundaries to establish a transportation business worth 400 crores.

An inspiring story of a slum dweller

Pyare Khan was born in a slum to a poor family. They are a family of 6 which consists of his 3 other siblings. To support his family, he sold oranges in the Nagpur railway station. Later when he was in his adolescence, he started working as a driver with a courier company after acquiring his driving license. But a fatal accident when he was 18 years old, made him lose his job as a driver. He then bought an auto rickshaw with some savings which he drives in the city of Nagpur. He also played the keyboard in an orchestra group. During those days, he bought a bus by selling some of his instruments to ferry the music band members as business ventures. That too faced a loss! He then opted for a loan from ING Vysya bank in Nagpur and hurried much to get the whooping amount of 11 lakhs as a loan amount. With the amount he bought, a truck and the rest is history!

IIM case story, 125 truck ownership, partnership with biggies like SAIL, TATA… and the list goes on!

The bank manager of ING Vysya bank, at that time, refused to give a loan of 11 lakhs to an auto driver. But today, he is the final head of Ashmi Road Transport Pvt ltd, khan’s transportation venture. In the current year, Khan owns 125 trucks which he uses to transfer steel and power infrastructure across India and abroad. His business has seen overseas success as well. He has also been awarded as a “young transport entrepreneur” by IIM-A and Mahindra where he delivered his presentation in Hindi as compared to other contestants who used smart technology to make their presentations. His achievements are applauding.

His success has not changed him

Though Mr. Khan has achieved so much at his young age of just 41, it has not struck his head. Even now, he plans to expand his business to a multi-crore office infrastructure at Nagpur with more jobs and employers to offer. He envisions that people getting more jobs would help in bettering the national economy. “I intend to expand my business in a couple of years and generate more jobs, which is what our country needs the most,” he said ethically.
