“Over 200 children and women were screened”

A Massive free ‘Health and Blood Testing Camp’ at Raj Nagar slum area was organized recently by “Mission UMS/Fikr India run by the local Universal Multipurpose Society and Fikr Foundation ‘Padhe Hum, Padhaye Hum’ Study Center”. In this camp, health investigations of more than 200 children and women of the local Raj Nagar slums were conducted and free medicines were distributed to them.
Mission UMS/Fikr India “Pade Hum; Padhaye Hum” project is now working on the health of poor children. This health check-up camp was taken under the leadership of renowned pediatrician Dr. Saba Ahmed, General Physician Dr. Sabiha Shahid Khan, Dentist Dr. Zubair Qazi, and Dr. Faizan Ahmed.
On this occasion, retired Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Chandrakant Udgirkar, retired Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Jameel Ahmed, social worker Mr. Pai Singh Renu, Mr. Sahil Khan Saheb, social worker Mr. Avinash Dorsatwar, retired Assistant Police Inspector Mr. Zafar Sheikh, youth social worker Mr. Amit Sharma, President of Fikr Foundation Salman Ahmed, Secretary Mrs. Shazia Ahmed, Mrs. Huma Jameel Ahmed, Mrs.Harmeet Kaur Renu, and other prominent personalities were present.
Eminent Pediatrician Dr. Saba Ahmed who is also Vice President of Fikr Foundation, Nagpur, said that in this changing season, especially in the rainy season, many viral and bacterial diseases like cold, cough, and cholera spread their wrath. Especially children are very susceptible to such diseases. Children are the future of the country, so along with studies, it is also necessary to keep them in good health. Some patients have been identified in this camp, whose treatment will be provided free of cost. Dr. Saba praised the work of both institutions and wished them all the best for the future.
Mr.Riyaz Qazi, President of Universal Multipurpose Society said that both organizations have been doing incomparable work in social service for the last many years. Children of slum dwellers, roadside and relocated workers for the past many years getting education through this project. We teach them at their locations themselves. Along with studies, we are also making a small effort to pay special attention to the health of the children through these camps.
We expressed our gratitude to the eminent pediatrician Dr. Saba Ahmed, Dr. Sabiha Khan, Dr. Zubair Qazi, and others for making a special contribution to this health camp.
Fikr Foundation President Salman Ahmed said that serving the poor and helpless people is an act of virtue. Such camps prove to be a boon for the people living in the slums who are unable to get proper treatment due to poverty. He further said that it is the duty of every person in society to contribute to such camps. We take a pledge today that free health check-up camps will be organized every month through both organizations.
Mr. Salman Ahmed further said that our aim is not only to educate the children but also to make them self-reliant. So that they too grow up and contribute to society.

On this occasion, retired Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Chandrakant Udgirkar and retired Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Jameel Ahmed also praised the work of the organization and gave their best wishes. Hamdan Pathology Director Mr. Hasan Qureshi contributed to the work of blood groups and blood collection. Reena Sister, the operator of Gorewada UPHC also gave her special contribution.
