Bapi Akunji, Sundarbans: Lockdown is in several countries around the world to prevent the spread of the pandemic Virus. The whole world including public life has come to a standstill. The biggest problem in this lock down is the helpless families of the society. Since the beginning of the lockdown, these families have lost all the earning sources. This image is present in all the districts of the state from North to South, East to West. In this situation, Naba Diganta, a voluntary organization of the Sundarbans, has come forward to deliver food relief to the helpless families.

The NGO has been distributing food items in all the districts of West Bengal from first day of lock down. Naba Diganta forms a relief fund on an emergency basis. The relief fund has been made by well-known social workers and renowned educational institutions Al-Amin Mission. For almost a month , from the very first day of the lockdown, this voluntary organization has provided sanitizers for the distressed people, including rice, pulses, potatoes, onions, salt, mustard oil. The NGO also distributed about five hundred N95 masks and five thousand surgical masks for the protection of health workers and emergency service providers, especially for doctors, nurses and police personnel in special collaboration with With You Welfare Society. So with the basic meterial of corona tackling including food items, this NGO sometimes reaching the remote and marginal areas of the Sundarbans, sometimes reaching Darjeeling or Jalpaiguri in the mountains, sometimes going to the border area Bangaon, sometimes going to Newtown. This is how every day the member of Naba Diganta are coming at the doorsteps of helpless unhappy families with health care materials including food items . Today all the donars and good sense people are fascinated and happy to see this activity of Naba Diganta. Prominent social worker Jahangir Alam, income tax officer Shaheen Alam & Gita Das, OT in-charge of Kolkata Medical College, along with education institution Al-Amin Mission have come forward for financial help. Dr. Faruk Hossain Gazi, Founder and General Secretary of Naba Diganta, told a number of newspapers: “From the first day of lock down, we have been able to deliver food items to more than 2500 families and more than 1500 masks have been distributed.” Dr. Faruk also said that Naba Diganta family is grateful to those who helped with donation for making relief fund. He also said that in this special moment, everyone has to come and Forgetting the politics and communalism of caste, people should be bound in the inseparable garland of world humanity and come forward in human service. By the way, he said: “The one who loves the living is the one who serves God”. Dr. Faruk and his team are trying their best so that no one has any problem. Faruk said that we are all fighting against the Corona virus. We know that no preventative drug or vaccine has been discovered so far. Therefore, we have to obey all the guidelines given by the state government and stay at home. We are trying our best to be with people by following all the guidelines of the state government.
