A government official said that the job survey would set the “ball rolling” for the employment policy. He said, “The five surveys will set the ball rolling for a national employment policy. Once the data sets are in place, it will be of immense help while formulating a policy and help in concentrating on thrust areas”. After the completion of the survey, it will help in managing the national employment policy well.

The survey data is important in shaping up the employment policy

The data that comes out of the survey will be very significant in understanding the employment issue in the country. The director-general of the Labour bureaus and the central Labour commissioner, DS Negi said, “While the surveys will give us enough data, industry-specific and of different segments, it will be helpful in defining the contours of an employment policy. The details will emerge over a period of time but first, we need to have solid data from the field”.
