The newly appointed Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force, Air Vice-Marshal Sheikh Abdul Hannan, BUP, NSWC, FAWC, PSC took charge as the Chief of Bangladesh Air Force on Saturday (June 12) afternoon. He replaces the outgoing Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, BBP, OSP, NDU, PSC.
On this occasion, the formalities of taking over / handing over the responsibility were completed at the Bangladesh Air Force Headquarters. Meanwhile, the newly appointed Chief of Air Staff Air Vice Marshal Sheikh Abdul Hannan took over the charge of the Bangladesh Air Force from the outgoing Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman SerniabatDoes.The event was attended by senior officials including the Principal Staff Officer of Biman Sadar. Earlier in the morning, the outgoing Chief of Air Staff Masihuzzaman Serniabat paid homage to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by visiting the Memorial Museum and laying a wreath at the portrait of the Father of the Nation. After handing over the wreath, the outgoing Chief of Air Staff stood silently in front of the portrait for a while as part of a tribute to Bangabandhu and signed the inspection book. He also laid a wreath at Shikha Anirban and paid homage to the memory of the members of the Armed Forces who were martyred in the Great War of Independence in 1971. There he also signed a visitor’s book.
He was given a guard of honor by a smart contingent of the Air Force before leaving the airbase. He visited the guards and received salutations. Also, he planted a tree sapling on the premises of the Air Force Headquarters. Finally, when the departing Air Force chief left the airbase, his colleagues said goodbye to him.
