Non-resident Ambassador of Bangladesh to Kosovo Md. Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, NDC presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Kosovo Dr. Vjosa Osmani- Sadriu in a ceremony at the office of the President in Prishtina on 30 June 2021.
During the meeting after the credentials ceremony, the Ambassador conveyed to the President sincere greetings from the Hon’ble President and the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh, informed her about the immense socio-economic developments taking place in Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. In addition, the ongoing Covid-19 crisis and vaccine issue, possibilities of investment and development of trade relations, signing of the Avoidance of Double Taxation Treaty, exemption of visa for diplomatic and official passport holders, cultural exchange, and people to people connectivity, etc. were discussed.
The President sought the support of Bangladesh for Kosovo’s accession in the UN and other international forums. In response, the Ambassador highlighted the similar history of struggle for independence of both the countries and how the people of Bangladesh stood against all odds under the leadership of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He added that Bangladesh is always in support of Kosovo as a good friend. The Kosovar President conveyed her best wishes to the President and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
