On Sunday (1st August) the occasion of the birth centenary and Mujib Year of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a photo exhibition on his life and work was organized by the Embassy of Bangladesh in Stockholm.
Various photographs of the family, political, international, and diplomatic life of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the nation, collected and printed by Mohammad Aftabur Rahman, a Bangabandhu fan from Sweden, are on display in this photo exhibition. At the beginning of the ceremony, the ambassador said. In the presence of Nazmul Islam, Mr. Mohammad Aftabur Rahman, and other guests, the photo exhibition was inaugurated by cutting the ribbon. After the reading of the holy scriptures, open discussion was held.
In the open discussion program, the speakers discussed Bangabandhu’s biography, political foresight, and various achievements. The speakers said that the responsibility of spreading Bangabandhu’s life, deeds, and consciousness among all Bengalis including expatriates should be fulfilled hand in hand.
Ambassador Md. In his opening remarks, Nazmul Islam humbly recalled the immense contribution of the great architect of independence, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and the great liberation war of Bangladesh. He prayed for the souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the martyred members of Bangabandhu’s family on 15th August. Highlighting the various activities of the embassy on the occasion of Mujib Year, he said that this photo exhibition would be able to showcase the outstanding memories of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his selfless and struggling life in the jewel of people’s hearts. It is to be noted that this two-week-long photo exhibition will be held at the embassy premises till 15 August 2021. The photo exhibition is open to the public.
