On September 25, 2021, Port Louis, Bangladesh High Commission, Port Louis, Mauritius in collaboration with the City Council of Port Louis has planted 47 trees at Plaine Verte Garden in Port Louis on the occasion of the 47th Anniversary of Bangabandhu’s Historic Speech in Bangla at the UN General Assembly in 1974.
Dr. The Honorable Mohammad Anwar Hasnu, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Local Government and Disaster Management, Mr. Kavidash Ramano, Minister of Environment, Mr. Abdur Raouf Bundhun, GOSK, PBSA, former Vice President of Mauritius, Deputy Speaker Mr. Mohammad Zahid Nazurally, Member of Parliament Mr. Mohammad Selim Abbas Mamudi and Ehsan Jumon, Mr. Mahfooz Moussa CADERSAIB, The Lord Mayor of Port Louis, High Commissioner of India, Ambassadors of Madagascar and Egypt to Mauritius, CDA, a.i. of Pakistan and the South African Commission, members of Civil Society and Bangladesh community and other officials and employees of the Bangladesh Mission planted trees in the park, which is located in the center of the capital, Port Louis.
In the end, the Chief Guest, Special Guest, Deputy Speaker, and Lord Mayor have presented the portrait of Bangabandhu, delivering a speech at the United Nations General Assembly in 1974 as a memento.
