Amid the ongoing tension with the china at the Galwan Valley, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday made a surprise visit to Ladakh to take the review of the situation. He reached Leh and visited one of the forward locations in Nimu, at a height of 11000 feet, in the early morning today. During his visit, he also interacted with Army, Air force, and ITBP personnel.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat and Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane. He was briefed by senior officers at a forward position in Nimu on the face-off with China since May. He also addressed the soldiers in Nimu and saluted them.
While addressing the soldiers of the Indian security force he commended the soldiers for their bravery and said, “The world has seen India’s strength”.
He addressed the armed personnel, “The bravery that you and your compatriots showed, a message has gone to the world about India’s strength. Nation rests peacefully because of your bravery. Your bravery and dedication for the motherland is unparalleled. Every single Indian across the world, especially in India, has the belief that you all can deliver and keep the nation strong and safe”.

Further, he said, “Your arms are as strong as the mountains that surround you. Your confidence, determination and belief is as immovable (Atal) and the peaks here.” He also mentioned, “Atmanirbhar Bharat ka sankalp aapke ke tyaag, balidaan, pursharth ke karan aur bhi mazboot hota hai.”

Further boosting the morale, PM Modi said, “We have increased expenditure on development on infrastructure in the border area by three times. Whether World Wars or peace, whenever the need arises, the world has seen the victory of our braves and their efforts towards peace. We have worked for the betterment of humanity”.
Defense minister Rajnath Singh has hailed PM Modi’s visit, saying it has boosted the morale of the soldiers. BJP leaders also said that the PM’s visit delivered a strong and clear message to China.
