With the epic success of Bahubali we started to take notice of the grandeur of Tollywood which was already an epitome of its’ astounding benchmark. We used to have a prejudged misconception about the Tollywood stars and the worst affected were the female stars who even after the stereotype, headed for a future in the south. Even after a sizzling beauty alongwith their immense talent they have been quite underrated and one such Tollywood beauty with brain who have not got the deserved attention is none other than Poonam Kaur.

Poonam Kaur was born and bought up in Hyderabad, even though she has her roots embedded in Punjab. After completing her schooling from the prestigious Hyderabad Public School, she did her Fashion Designing from the National Institute of Fashion Technology. She is not only a fine actress who made an entry into the highly-competitive south industry at an young age of 20 with her debut movie “Mayajalam” in 2006 but also got nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her stellar performance in “Shouryam” alongwith Anushka Shetty and Gopichand. She has not been only a versatile actress but also she was awarded Femina Miss India South Talented Award in 2008 for her immense beauty. As a model she have already a credible resume which covers her modelling assignments all across India, Dubai and Malaysia. She has also bagged the Miss Andhra Title which is one of the top league modelling competition in South India.

She have been versatile through her acting career as she can boast of working with some of the veterans like Kamal Hassan which have been almost a daydream for other actresses in such a short career. She have been nominated once again for Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress – Telugu in 2011 for her critically acclaimed performance in Gaganam alongwith Akkineni Nagarjuna. She has not only restricted herself only to Tollywood as she has also capitulated the varied audiences with her performance in the Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam alongwith Bollywood. She has also been part of some music albums including the mega-hit video album Jalwa 2 These would be just a fraction of her activities as even after being such a versatile artist she has been kept away from the deserved spotlight perhaps as she was one of those girls who faded away the overrated presence of Amy Jackson in the opening ceremony of Indian Premier League 2017 which was enough to show her talent alongwith beauty who have been already nominated as the Brand Ambassador of Miss Telangana Event.
