In a bid to promote investment in Jaisalmer, the Ashok Gehlot-led govt in Rajasthan Cabinet brought into existence the Startup Policy 2022, and strengthened the ERCP Corp on November 9th. The policy would benefit entrepreneurial students, rural startups and institutional incubation centres.
The cabinet approved to the proposal that advocated allotment of 400.5237 hectares of reserved land for industrial purposes to M/s Wonder Cement Limited for establishing large-scale industries in Jaisalmer. This allotment is determined to channel employment for around 1500.

The cabinet also took decisions on availability of water for irrigation and drinking water from East Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) in 13 districts of the state and reservation related exemption in government recruitments. The approval asserted that the unutilized land owned by water resources and other related departments must be transferred free of cost to the ERCP Corporation. It added that 100 percent of the income received by the depts for management/sale/lease / other use of the transferred land must be incorporated in the development of the department.
Proposal in interest of civil service employees like amendment to the Compassionate Appointment Rules, 2002 for the dependents of battle casualty, physical casualty or permanently disabled armed forces service personnel and dependents of paramilitary (BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, Coast Guard) personnel were presented. For the benefit of civil employees the amendments to the Rajasthan Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2017 were also approved by the top officials.
Besides, outstanding sportspersons of the state in ‘Rajasthan Engineering Subordinate Services (Electrical Inspectorate Branch)’ and ‘Rajasthan Science and Technology (State and Subordinate)’ services were bestowed benefits of 2per cent reservation.
