Runu Chowdhary, a stage 4B cancer survivor is now an inspiration for all. This homemaker sailed her boat through the toughest storms of her life and now she helps other warriors reach their destination.

A homemaker was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2012. She lost weight, hunger, and ability to walk with painkillers injected once every 4 hours. Battling cancer for a woman brings unnecessary societal pressures as the head turns bald, nails turn black, and outer beauty may compromise. Runu Chowdhary stood strong and believes that people should extend a helping hand for cancer patients, especially when they are in need of blood.
Her victory encouraged her to bring others to life. She began with SAAHAS Cancer Support Trust Foundation. Her journey is inspiring, and the trust works to help and support other women affected by the disease. Since its establishment, SAAHAS has worked in many ways to help cancer patients through organizing blood donation camps, awareness programs, and donations to cancer hospitals like Saroj Gupta Cancer Centre & Research Institute, Tata Medical Centre, Premashray etc.
Her contribution to society and dedicated work towards cancer patients has received appreciation and awards including; ABP Sananda Prerna Awards, Raahat Relief, The Bengal Green Bengal and many more. Her efforts have been applauded by Zee Bangla, Colours Bangla, Star Jalsa, Aakash Aath, and many other reputed TV channels, who invite her frequently to talk about her journey as a cancer survivor and for the philanthropic work of team SAAHAS.
