Ministry of Education will be organizing Shikshak Parv-2021 from 5th of September on Teacher’s Day, which will continue till 17th of this month through virtual mode.
Briefing media in New Delhi, Additional Secretary of School Education Department and Literacy in the Ministry, Santosh Kumar Sarangi mentioned that the Department has decided to celebrate Shikshak Parv this year as well to recognize teachers for their invaluable contributions and path forward the National Education Policy (NEP) through this occasion.
Joint Secretary R.C. Meena informed that President Ram Nath Kovind will confer the awards to 44 awardees through a virtual model on Teacher’s Day. He said, during the event, a documentary film on each of the awardee teachers will also be shown. Mr. Meena informed that the National Awards to Teachers were first instituted in 1958 to recognize the excellence and commitment of teachers in shaping the minds as well as the future of the youth.
Mr. Kumar said the inaugural conclave will be followed by webinars, discussions, and presentations up to the 17th of this month in which the educational practitioners from various schools of the country have been invited to share their experiences, learnings, and the roadmap ahead. Teachers and practitioners from even remote schools will be speaking on issues relating to quality and innovation in schools.
