Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small has paid deep tributes to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the nation. During a meeting with Bangladesh Consul General Sadia Faizunnesa at Atlantic City Hall in New York, the mayor paid tribute to the Father of the Nation.
During the meeting, the Secret Documents of the Intelligence Branch on the Father of the Nation, edited by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the architect of the great independence of Bangladesh from 1947 to 1971 Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Volume – 1, 2, & 3 books were handed over to the Mayor by Consul General Sadia Faizunnesa. The mayor said the books would be carefully preserved in the Atlantic City Hall as a sign of deep respect for Bangabandhu.
The Consul General said that in this joyous moment on the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation in 2021 and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence, the United Nations has made a final recommendation to move Bangladesh from a least developed country to a developing country. This achievement of Bangladesh has been made possible due to the visionary political leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of the Father of the Nation.
It is to be noted that ‘Asian Consulate and Resource Day’ was celebrated in Atlantic City for the first time at the Atlantic City Convention Center. The Consulate Generals of Bangladesh and India participated in the event, which was organized with the support of various community organizations, including the Atlantic City administration. Consular services were provided to more than 400 Bangladeshis and Bangladeshi Americans in a two-day mobile camp at the Bangladesh Consulate.
On the occasion, the Mayor presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Consul General Sadia Faizunnesa for her outstanding contribution to the service of the Bangladeshi-American community.
