The book analyses the Digital Identity of the “Saleswalahs”. In today’s world, each one of us is a salesperson. Saleswalah is the key to unlock one’s sales potential. In his book, Mazumdar has beautifully articulated the art of the sales picked from the streets of the joyous city of Kolkata and different parts of the country.
The business has always been the backbone of economic growth for any capitalist society. It is the engine that hauls the economy towards growth and development. The most important factor in business entrepreneurship or in general in the capitalist regional economic model is sales because if the sale is weak of any organization it will always struggle to survive to sustain and to thrive in the society. Mazumdar narrates his book like, “It’s all about being positive how you identify the opportunity, for me it is simple and often we overlook the simplicity.” In today’s world, every person is so busy that they will not give others even an hour of their time, so one needs to be concise and clear. With growing technology and social media sales have become increasingly competitive and complex but having a positive perspective can make it easy for all.
Three basic criteria are extremely important for being a successful salesperson. First is the Art of Storytelling, Second is the Listening Skill, which helps in understanding the client and third is the emotional balance, where a salesperson should remain positive about their clients and their product.
This book “Saleswalah” is very much relevant for the small- scale industries as well as startups that have just started the business. Most often people start business ventures out of passion, emotion, and vision but without having much understanding about sales this book brings to its readers 11 real-life short stories answering all the questions related to sales for everyone to inspire them.
