“On a serious note the virus could be another endemic virus in our communities and this may never go away like HIV”, the Executive Director of World Health organization health  emergencies Michael Ryan said. He also warned that this endemic virus could stay forever, so people have to learn to survive with this. Only an effective immunization could fight against this virus. It is going to take a massive effort to develop the coronavirus vaccine.

As per Ryan’s statement, this is a new virus entering the human population for the first time, and therefore it is really hard to predict when the world will be prevailing over this pandemic. So all we have to do is to be “realistic” as no one could make it assure that how and when this will disappear. Also, he warned without a proper vaccine it could take years for the population to build a hard immunity.

Worldwide the known total of coronavirus cases is more than 4.3 million and 299, 418 succumbed to the virus so far. The country with the most number of coronavirus confirmed infection is the US and  number two is Russia, and now a life-saving tool there is now being seen as a trace, and so that WHO addressed this endemic which might not go away like HIV. The only chance of eliminating the virus is to produce a highly effective vaccine.

He believes that there is a “massive opportunity for the entire world” to turn this tragic pandemic into a way of hope for upcoming days, and urging the world to work together to solve all the problems through trust, solidarity, through working together and through a multilateral system that could actually benefit the mankind”. It is a one-way hope, that if we will do fine we will be getting a better future. Once the vaccine will be prepared it will be distributed all across the world for the people who will need it.

Executive Ryan further informed that lifting all the restrictions while the cases are still not under control could lead to renew a massive transmission of the virus. “When you will get the day to day number to the lowest as per possibility level and get as much virus out of all the communities as possible. Then you only will tend to have less risk or less transmission”.

The only vaccine won’t work for this endemic virus. People individually have to maintain all the restrictions that need to be done to stop COVID-19 from spreading. It would only help the world heal. The director had a warning about coronavirus: “Even though an effective vaccine might be developed, it would require immense work to produce sufficient doses and distribute them worldwide.” So each and every single step is fraught with challenges, he meant.
