The Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) has added a Whatsapp feature to its hotline for reporting cases of children in distress. The +919311551393 hotline was established in April, during the peak of the second wave, to address the needs of children who had lost their parents to Covid-19 or who had parents hospitalised for the same.

Other child-related distress calls, as well as questions about scholarships, EWS/DG quota, government school admissions, nutrition supplement distribution at Anganwadi centres, vaccination, and submitting online complaints, are now available on the hotline.

This hotline number is now also available on Whatsapp, and the commission has underlined that it should be utilised to report cases of child labour and child labour so that the afflicted children can be rehabilitated.
