The Policy Times with Department of Commerce & Business Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is organizing a national seminar on ‘Role of Corporate Foundations (CSR) in Inclusive Development’.
The Seminar will be held on December 22, 2018, at Engineering Auditorium, JMI, New Delhi.
This one-day national seminar intends to have brainstorming sessions on understanding the potential and strength of corporate foundations, assessing their current role in community and inclusive development and planning and acting beyond the statutory CSR obligations.
As the social enterprises, corporate foundations (CFs) and community institutions (CIs) play important role in ensuring economic opportunities to local residents and disadvantaged neighborhoods, the distinguished speakers is all set to have a constructive debate on why a large section of Indians are economically backward, socially excluded and politically deprived even after 70 years of Independence.
Over 200 representatives from corporate foundations, NGOs, think tanks and community development institutions are expected to attend the seminar to discuss how inclusive development is achieved through collective efforts of these organizations and outline a future roadmap.
Some of the top dignitaries who will attend the seminar are Prof Furqan Qamar, Secretary-General, Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Mr. A P Siddiqui (IPS), Registrar, JMI, Mr. Wajahat Habibullah, former Chief Information Commissioner of India, Ms. Mamta Saikia, Chief Operating Officer, Bharti Foundation and Dr. Syed Zafar Mahmood, President, Zakat Foundation of India.
