L’Oréal India For Young Women In Science Scholarship

L’Oréal India For Young Women In Science Scholarship’ (FYWIS) is an initiative by L’Oréal India to promote scientific education amongst women and support young girls who aspire to be educated in the science stream. Girl students who have passed their higher secondary examination in the science stream in the academic year 2019-20 and are pursuing their undergraduate degree in a science-related field can get a scholarship of up to Rs. 2.5 lakhs.

  • Eligibility:
  1. The candidates must have passed class 12 in the science stream (2019-20) from India.
  2. Applicants should have scored at least 85% in PCM/PCB/PCMB in the higher secondary examinations.
  3. The maximum age as on May 31 should be 19 years.
  4. The family income should not exceed 4 lakh.
  5. There should not be any gap after class 12.
  6. The undergraduate degree enrolled in, must be from the science discipline.

  • Scholarship Amount: Up to Rs. 2.5 lakhs

Legrand Scholarship

The Legrand Scholarship is a boost to the aspirations of girls in the engineering and architecture fields. Legrand started offering the scholarships in 2018-19. They provide financial assistance to the selected candidates for their BE/BTech/BArch program.

  • Eligibility:
  1. The candidates must have scored a minimum of 75% marks in class 10 and 12.
  2. They should have passed class 12 in 2020.
  3. They must be ready to start their BE/BTech/BArch program in the academic year 2020-21 from a recognized university/college in India.
  4. The family income should not exceed Rs. 5 lakh.

  • Scholarship Amount: 60% of the tuition fees or Rs 60,000 per annum (whichever is less)

AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Girls

This is an annual scheme run by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) that provides financial assistance to 5,000 girl students every year for pursuing their technical degree/diploma courses. Up to two girls from the same family can avail of this scholarship. The main aim is to empower young girls and motivate them to contribute to the development process of the country.

  • Eligibility:
  1. Open for girl students pursuing any technical degree/diploma course and are in the first or second year (through lateral entry).
  2. Their admission should be based on the percentage of marks obtained in the 10+2/equivalent exam.
  3. The annual family income should not be more than Rs. 8 lakh per annum.

“Shiksha ki Udaan” Scholarship Program for Girls

This is a CSR initiative of Samasta Microfinance Limited and aims at reducing the drop-out rate in girl students who cannot continue the studies due to financial constraints.

  • Eligibility:
  1. This is available for girl students who reside in Bihar and Odisha.
  2. The scholarship is open for students of class 11.
  3. The applicants must have scored more than 60% in their class 10 board examinations.
  4. The annual family income should not be less than Rs. 3 lakh from all sources.

Post-Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child
