Prime Minister Narendra Modi lost nearly 300,000 followers while Congress Party President Rahul Gandhi lost over 17,000 followers after Twitter decided to crack down on fake followers. Modi’s Twitter followers have now gone down from 43.4 million from 43.1 million after the micro-blogging site’s crackdown.

India’s business tycoon  Mukesh Ambani of Reliance has overtaken Jack Ma in terms of wealth. Mukesh Ambani is now worth $44.3 Billion. Jack Ma follows Ambani with $44 billion.

Donald Trump invited for Republic Day Celebrations in India

India has invited the United States president Donald Trump for the next year’s Republic Day celebrations.  Last time when a US president had attended Republic Day celebrations was in 2015 with Barack Obama becoming the first US president to ever have visited India on Republic Day.

Nawaz Sharif and daughter Maryam get arrested

Nawaz Sharif, three-time Prime Minister of Pakistan, along with his daughter Maryam have been arrested due to corruption charges. The arrest comes at a time when Nawaz Sharif was in London to attend his critically ill wife.  The father-daughter were arrested due to buying properties in London using fraudulent methods of pay and not being able to show the source of funds in an appropriate manner.
