Two sisters Ambareen Azam and Iffat Azam from Aliah University, Kolkata, have made India proud for being placed internationally. Ambareen Azam has been placed in Deutsche Ban as a Graduate Engineer. Iffat Azam, a student of the bioscience dept of AU, sister of Ambareen Azam has been selected for a Doctorate course in the Department of Medical Biotechnology, Yeungnam University, South Korea.

Aliah University has become a Centre of Excellence to contribute to society through the pursuit of teaching and research in emerging areas; modern science, social studies, engineering and technology, and humanities. It aims to nurture and produce forward-looking students with a focus on their intellectual, moral, and social development enabling them to excel in various spheres of life.

“I would like to thank the department and University for guiding my daughters throughout their journey. I am happy that my girls have laid the path of their careers successfully”, said Mohammad Moghle Azam, father of Ambareen Azam and Iffat Azam.

Iffat began her preparation right from day one at university to bag the off-campus placement. “By God’s grace, I have achieved this. My parents, family, my mentor, seniors, and coding friends helped me achieve this. My professors and Prof. Sk. Abu Taher Kamruddin (Vice Chancellor) for making my journey insightful”, said Iffat Azam.

Besides completing college, Iffat has also gained experience by working on 3 commendable projects, and a few industries to gain industrial technological insights. From the last nine months, she worked consistently to clear her concepts related to Data structures, algorithms, and computer science fundamentals. Throughout the journey, her mentor has helped her in case of doubts and queries.

Finally hard work paid off. After applying in multiple institutes for the past 2-3 years and facing nearly 1000 rejections, this one single acceptance has been worth it. “We should surround ourselves with like-minded people sharing same goal and work towards it”, says Iffat Azam remembering her journey.
