The US India Business Council said Tuesday that continuous dialogue between India and the US under the bilateral Trade Policy Forum mechanism will help reduce trade barriers, permit higher levels of investment, and enhance two-way trade in commodities and services.
“We’re delighted by the encouraging sentiments coming from both sides,” the USIBC stated. “We’re certain that regular discussions under the Forum will help remove trade obstacles, promote higher levels of investment, and increase two-way commerce in products and services.”
The USIBC issued a statement congratulating Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and US Trade Representative (USTR) Katherine Tai on the successful reconvening of the US-India Trade Policy Forum, saying they are pleased to see the leaders’ vigorous agenda.
“Today’s meeting also confirms the vast benefits of the US-India business partnership and the necessity of innovation and investment,” the council stated, adding that it also reaffirmed the importance of collaboration on the Quad, climate, health, and labor concerns.
“We look forward to guiding and advancing these concerns on behalf of the USIBC membership and working collaboratively with both governments,” it said.
